Not your typical creative.

I grew up in a small town in the Missouri Bootheel — the kind of place where you make your own fun. And I did. I choreographed dances, put on performances, made videos with my friends and then spent hours editing the footage, wrote songs I thought were brilliant (they were not), and noticed every little detail about everything around me. I just didn't know yet that any of that counted for something.

I went to nursing school, moved to Memphis, then Atlanta, built a career in clinical management, fell in love, got married — and designed my entire wedding from scratch because of course I did. That's when people started paying attention. The clothes I wore, the way I decorated my home, the wedding I built from nothing — it all said something before I ever had a business card.

A few years ago, one of the owners of a local brand approached me about coming on full-time to lead their creative direction and events. They saw something in me I hadn't fully named yet. Six months later they let me go because they couldn't afford me anymore — and honestly, it was the best thing that ever happened to me. Bodewell was born out of that.

I'm Halle! When I'm not designing you can find me in my garden or wrangling my 3 dogs, 2 cats, and 12 ducks (while simultaneously trying to convince my husband to get more).

I notice everything, I care about everything, and I built Bodewell because intentional creative work deserves to exist in the world.

This is Bodewell. I'm glad you're here.

XO Hal
